MAINTENANCE

Battery (if equipped)

WARNING! Improperly connecting or disconnecting battery cables can result in
an explosion and cause serious injury or death. When removing the battery,
always disconnect the negative (black) cable first. When reinstalling the battery,
always connect the negative (black) cable last.

Battery Removal

CAUTION! Hot exhaust system parts can cause burns. Allow adequate time for
the exhaust system to cool. Never perform this procedure with the engine
running.

The battery and battery bracket
assembly must be installed and
removed as an assembly.

1. Remove the right side panel.

2. Remove the two plastic

rivets (1) securing the
console panel to the chassis.

3. Remove the plastic rivet (2)

securing the fender to the
chassis.

4. Disconnect the black

(negative) battery cable first.

5. Disconnect the red (positive)

battery cable last.

6. Remove the battery hold-

down strap (3).
