Design and function

This baby monitor comprises a parents' unit and a baby unit, connected by radio according to the
PMR-446 MHz standard.
The baby unit only starts to broadcast when the microphone picks up a sound in the baby's room.
The sound is received by the parents' unit.
This means that no high-frequency electromagnetic fields are generated when the microphone is not
receiving any sounds.
Users can set the sensitivity of the microphone (see section "12.5 Setting the microphone sensitivity
(VOX)").

9

Range

To minimise the effect of electromagnetic fields, the power supply has been reduced compared with
conventional baby monitors.
In the open air, the maximum range of the Babytalker 1030 is 100 metres. Obstacles such as walls, room
ceilings or large objects may impair the range. The more obstacles there are between the baby unit and the
parents' unit, the shorter the range becomes.

The device is not a replacement for responsible and correct adult supervision,
it is only an accessory.
