Firmware
Installation and
Setup
This chapter provides the following firmware installation and basic setup procedures:
• Powering on and booting the firmware
• Starting the Command Line Interface (CLI)
• Setting basic system information
• Setting up SNMP community strings
• Setting up passwords
• Setting the DNS domain name and address
• Setting SYSLOG parameters
• Loading system image firmware
• Loading the boot PROM firmware
• Activating configuration changes and saving the configuration file
Powering On and Booting the Firmware
To power on the XP-2000 and boot the firmware:
1. Make sure any exposed expansion slots are free of foreign objects, such as tools or your hands,
and are covered with coverplates.
