48 Text Messages
If you want to use a template as a message, scroll to Messages, Y ES ,
SMS, Y ES , Templates, Y ES , select the template you want from the
list and then select Write new.
To delete a template, scroll to Messages, Y ES , SMS, Y ES , Templates,
Y ES . Select the template you want to delete and press , Y ES .
You can request a status report for a sent text message, providing
your network supports the status report service. In the status report
you can see if the message has been delivered or not.
To request a status report for a sent message
1. Scroll to Messages, Y ES , SMS, Y ES , Sent items, Y ES .
2. Scroll to the message you want a status report for and press Y ES .
3. Press Y ES again.
4. Select Status request and press Y ES .
To check the status of a sent message
• Scroll to Messages, Y ES , SMS, Y ES , Sent items, Y ES ,
View status, Y ES .
When you receive a message, the phone beeps (see “Message Signal”
on page 51), the indicator light on the top of the phone rapidly flashes
green and the message New message Read now? appears in the display.
To read the message at once
1. Press Y ES when you see the question New message Read now?.
If you have received several messages, and you press Y ES at
the question above, you enter a list of new messages. Select the
message that you want to read and press
Y ES .
2. Scroll through the message by using the and keys.
An arrow in the bottom right-hand corner of the display indicates
that there is more text in the message. All parts of a long message
may not be received at the same time. ... indicates that part of the
message has yet to be received.
Note:
If the sender of the message wants you to reply, the display
shows ‘Reply requested Reply?’ when you press YES at the end of
the message. Press YES again to reply. If you do not want to reply,
press NO .
