EVA iSCSI Connectivity EVA iSCSI support is available through the EVA iSCSI Connectivity Option. This powerful solution

provides iSCSI connectivity to an EVA utilizing the EVA's existing Fibre Channel infrastructure.
The HP StorageWorks EVA iSCSI Connectivity Option extends the advantages of Fibre Channel SANs
into smaller departments and remote locations. This EVA option allows customers to incorporate iSCSI
servers within SANs without requiring additional storage arrays or management costs. Use the EVA's
Command View software to manage the iSCSI connectivity to the array and mount the iSCSI device in
the same rack as the array. For small-SAN deployment the EVA4100 Starter Kit with the iSCSI
Connectivity Option provides an affordable, robust and highly available simple iSCSI solution for smaller
budgets.

The EVA also supports select ProLiant Storage Servers (i.e. NAS) connected as file/print/iSCSI gateways.
The ProLiant DL380 G5 x64 SAN Storage Server and DL585 G2 Storage Server each feature Microsoft's
Windows Unified Data Storage Server 2003 operating system that includes Microsoft iSCSI Software
Target standard, while other DL380 G5 Storage Server models offer optional support for Microsoft iSCSI
Software Target. Microsoft iSCSI Software Target leverages existing management expertise and
inexpensive Ethernet infrastructure to deliver IP-based block access to an EVA or Fibre Channel SAN. So
ProLiant Storage Servers with iSCSI target functionality not only add file and print services to your EVA
investment, but they help you save even more by enabling tiered (Fibre Channel and iSCSI) block access
for application servers.

In addition, any ProLiant DL380 G5 Storage Server or DL585 G2 Storage Server is a perfect platform
from which to run Command View EVA. You stretch your investment even further when you host EVA
management, file and print services, and iSCSI connectivity all from the same ProLiant Storage Server
gateway solution.

and scalable performance. The EVA-File Services is supported by a powerfully simple suite of
management software making it easy for users to achieve high levels of productivity.

The EVA-File Services is designed for mid-range and enterprise customers wanting a single storage
solution for their block and file data, improved storage utilization, scalable throughput performance to
meet application specific demands for consistent high transaction I/O, easy capacity expansion,
instantaneous replication, simplified storage administration and high availability. Because the EVA- File
Services can serve both block and file data concurrently with high availability and scalable performance,
customers can use the EVA- File Services to consolidate their individual silos of storage to gain flexibility,
reduce IT costs and complexity as compared to traditionally architected storage solutions.

The EVA- File Services supports both CIFS (windows) and NFS file serving. EVA- File Services is available
factory integrated into the HP EVA4100/6100/8100 arrays. The EVA- File Services is delivered as an
easy to install, easy to manage and easy to support solutions that helps customers lower their TCO and
minimize the complexity of their storage environment.
