Troubleshooting

Before Contacting Technical Support

Before you contact technical support, use the information in this chapter to try and
resolve the problem.

Problems with the autoloader can occur in the following forms:

Operational Problems

Error Messages

Operational Problems

Operational problems can range from compatibility issues with the operating
system to failure of the front panel.

Table 13

describes the probable cause and

suggested action for each operational problem you may encounter.

Front Panel does not

display information.

The connection to the

LCD has failed.

Use the Web Administration

tool to troubleshoot the error.

The autoloader did not

power up.

The LCD has failed.

Replace the chassis assembly.

Autoloader is operating

slowly.

The autoloader is

incorrectly configured

for the operating

system.

Go to the HP support website

for compatibility

requirements:

Drive is operating

slowly.

Drive head is dirty.

If the cleaning light is also on,

clean the drive.

Media is worn out.

Try a new tape and discard

the older media.
