ENGINE COVER GRIP

FUEL FILLER CAP

Less friction allows the outboard
motor to turn more easily. More
friction helps to hold steady course
while cruising or to prevent the
outboard motor from swinging while
trailering the boat.

The tilt lever enables the outboard
motor to be raised for shallow water
operation, beaching, launching, or
mooring.

A fuel gauge is built into the cap of
the portable fuel tank.

The steering friction bolt adjusts
steering resistance.

To tilt, raise the outboard motor by
pulling on the cover grip until the tilt
mechanism engages at 30°, 45°, or
70° (p.

and

).
