Draining the Fuel System
Distributor’s Limited Warranty After the fuel has drained from the
carburetor, tighten the drain screw
securely. With the outboard motor in a
vertical position, place an
approved gasoline container below
the fuel drain outlet, and use a
funnel to avoid spilling fuel.
Loosen the drain screw to drain
fuel from the carburetor.
You can avoid fuel deterioration
problems by draining the fuel tank
and carburetors.
Disconnect the fuel hose from the
outboard motor.
The

problems resulting from neglected
storage preparation.
Disconnect the drain tube from the
air guide, then connect it to the
carburetor drain port as shown.
Store the portable fuel tank in a
cool place.
Drain the portable fuel tank into an
approved gasoline container, or if
you need to store fuel in the fuel
tank, you can extend fuel storage
life by filling the fuel tank with
fresh gasoline and adding a fuel
stabilizer that is formulated for
that purpose. Firmly close the fuel
filler cap vent knob.
Reconnect the drain tube to the air
guide.
