5.1.2.2 To place the earhook and reference microphone

1. Place the wedge-style earhook on the client’s ear. Alternately, place an earhook (without a

wedge) on the client’s ear, and place the Velcro headband around the client’s head.

2. Attach the reference microphone, facing for-

ward, on the wedge of the earhook, directly
above the ear to be tested. The reference micro-
phone should be as close to the head as pos-
sible. See Figure 5.1.2.2.

3. Adjust the round Velcro pad on the wedge style

earhook by turning it, so that the inside pad fits
firmly against the client’s neck.
