Invalid operation symbol

If you press a button on the player and the player does not respond, the

icon

may appear on the television screen to indicate an invalid operation. An invalid
operation may occur if:

The button you pressed cannot be used in the current player mode.

The region code number of the player is different from that of the DVD
disc and playback is not allowed.

The parental rating level does not allow playback of the video. For more
information, see

“Ratings Setup” on page 57

.

A disc is not playable.

Supported disc types

This DVD player can play only the discs bearing either the

or

marks and CD-R or CD-RW discs recorded with Audio CD or MP3 format.

This player cannot play discs (such as CD-ROM or DVD-RAM) other than
those listed above. Playing them may generate noise and damage speakers.

This player cannot play CD-Rs and CD-RWs that include unreadable file
formats such as data files.

Depending on the disc characteristics or recording condition, some of MP3
discs may not be played back.

This player conforms to the NTSC color system for United States and
Canada.
