Temperature Control: The driver-side

knob changes the temperature on the

driver’s and passenger’s side of the

vehicle. Turn the knob clockwise or

counterclockwise to manually increase

or decrease the temperature inside your

vehicle.

The passenger-side knob changes the

temperature on the passenger’s side of

the vehicle.

See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Defogging

OnStar

®

(if equipped)

The OnStar system provides in-vehicle

safety, security, and phone services,

available 24 hours a day, 7 days a

week. These services are easily

accessed through the three OnStar but-

tons in your vehicle.

CONVENIENCE FEATURES

To clear fog or frost from your wind-

shield, press the Windshield Defogger

button ( ). This mode directs most of

the air to the windshield. When operat-

ing, the Defog symbol appears on the

display.

Rear Window Defogger

To remove fog or frost from the rear

window, press the Rear Window

Defogger button ( ) to turn the rear

window defogger on. It will turn off

automatically or can be turned off by

pressing the button again.

The heated outside rearview mirrors

also will be cleared when is

pressed.

Manual Operation

Off: Press the driver-side climate control

knob to turn off the climate control sys-

tem. This is the only setting that fully

shuts off the fan. The digital display will

show only the outside temperature.

(Recirculation): Press this button

to turn the Recirculation mode on or off.

When on, it keeps outside air from com-

ing in the vehicle.

Recirculation is not available when using

the Defog mode because outside air is

needed to reduce moisture inside the

vehicle.

A/C Off: Press this button to turn the

air conditioning system off.

For maximum cooling on hot days,

do the following:

1. Open the windows to let hot inside

air escape; then close them.

2. Select the Vent mode.

3. Select Recirculation mode.

4. Turn on the A/C.

5. Select the coolest temperature.

6. Select the highest fan speed.

(Fan): Press this button to man-

ually increase or decrease the fan

speed.

(Mode): Press this button to manual-

ly lock in the current air delivery setting

and to stop the automatic mode control.

To change the setting, press the Mode

button again and select one of the

following:

• Vent: This mode directs most of the

air to the instrument panel outlets.

• Bi-Level: This mode directs air to the

instrument panel outlets and the floor

outlets.

• Floor: This mode directs most of the

air to the floor outlets.
