PRE-OPERATION INSPECTION

Pre-operation Inspection

R Be sure that the operator’s, safety and

responsibilities manuals are complete, legible
and in the storage container located in the
platform.

R Be sure that all decals are legible and in place.

See Decals section.

R Check for engine oil leaks and proper oil level.

Add oil if needed. See Maintenance section.

R Check for hydraulic oil leaks and proper oil level.

Add oil if needed. See Maintenance section.

R Check for engine coolant leaks and proper level

of coolant. Add coolant if needed. See
Maintenance section.

R Check for battery fluid leaks and proper fluid

level. Add distilled water if needed. See
Maintenance section.

Check the following components or areas for
damage, improperly installed or missing parts and
unauthorized modifications:

R Electrical components, wiring and electrical

cables

R Hydraulic hoses, fittings, cylinders and

manifolds

R Fuel and hydraulic tanks

R Drive motors

R Wear pads

R Tires and wheels

R Engine and related components

R Limit switches, alarms and horn

R Nuts, bolts and other fasteners

R Platform entry gate

R Beacon and alarms (if equipped)

R Safety arm

R Platform overload components

R Platform extension(s)

R Scissor pins and retaining fasteners

R Platform control joystick

R Generator (if equipped)

R Outrigger housings and footpads (if equipped)

Check entire machine for:

R Cracks in welds or structural components

R Dents or damage to machine

R Be sure that all structural and other critical

components are present and all associated
fasteners and pins are in place and properly
tightened

R Side rails are installed and rail pins and bolts are

fastened
