BASIC OPERATION
7 Power Up the CR601
Before connecting the mains cord, complete all
connections (
☞
page 8 to 10).
1.
Connect the mains cord to a suitable wall outlet.
• The CR601 enters Standby mode, and the
Standby indicator comes on.
2.
To turn on the CR601, press the
POWER
ON/STANDBY
switch

or button

.
• The CR601 comes on, the display lights up,
and the Standby indicator goes off.
• To turn off the CR601, press the
POWER
ON/STANDBY
switch
q
or button
z
again. The CR601 enters Standby mode and
the Standby indicator comes on.
7 Selecting Sound Sources

Use the
INPUT

to select one of
the following sound sources: CD, DAB, FM,
AM, TAPE, MD and DVD.
• The currently selected source is shown on the
display.

If you selected CD, see “PLAYING CD” on page
12.
• If you selected DAB, see “LISTENING TO
DAB BROARDCAST” on page 19.
• If you selected AM or FM, see “LISTENING
TO FM/AM” on page 15.
• If you selected TAPE, MD, or DVD, start
playback on the relevant component.
7 Adjusting the Volume

• Turn the Master

to increase the volume, counterclockwise to
decrease it.
7 Using Headphones
You can connect a pair of stereo headphones to
the CR601’s PHONES jack for private listening, as
shown.
Note
Always turn down the volume before connecting
your head-phones.
