OPERATION

Setting squelch level

The squelch circuit mutes the received audio signal depending on
the signal strength. Scan proceeds in sequence from lower channel
to higher channel numbers.

q While pushing [PTT] and [W/N], turn the transceiver’s power on

to enter the squelch adjustment mode.

w Push [MONI] to increase the squelch level (tight squelch) or

[W/N] to decrease the squelch level (loose squelch).

• Squelch level will be fixed after 1 sec.

Auto scan function

Auto scan function proceeds in sequence from lower channel to
higher channel numbers. Scanning searches for signals automati-
cally and makes it easier to locate new stations for contact or lis-
tening purpose.

q Turn the CH select knob to CH 16. Scan starts automatically.

• When receiving a signal, scan pauses until a signal disappears.

NOTE: You can perform the scan start/stop by optional HM-75A

SPEAKER-MICROPHONE’

[Mic A] key.

Wide/Narrow selection

You can easily to toggle between wide FM mode and narrow FM
mode by pushing [W/N] key.

• Push [W/N]: Turns to wide FM mode.
• Pushing and holding [W/N]: Turns to narrow FM mode.
