Disabled Prevents the system from using the on-board IDE
controller
Primary Only allows the system to detect the Primary IDE
channel, including both the Primary Master and Primary
Slave)
Secondary Only allows the system to detect the Secondary IDE
channel, including both the Secondary Master and
Secondary Slave)
Both (Default) Allows the system to detect both the Primary and
Secondary IDE channels including the Primary Master,
Primary Slave, Secondary Master and Secondary
Slave.
IDE Master and IDE Slave
When entering setup, BIOS auto detects the presence of IDE devices. This displays the
status of the auto detected IDE devices. The following IDE devices are detected and are
shown in the IDE Configuration menu:
Primary IDE Master
Primary IDE Slave
Secondary IDE Master
Secondary IDE Slave
The IDE Configuration menu (BIOS Menu 1) allows changes to the configurations for the
IDE devices installed in the system. If an IDE device is detected, and one of the above
listed four BIOS configuration options are selected, the IDE configuration options shown in
Section 6.1.1.1 appear.
