Chapter 2. Using the projector

This chapter describes how to use and make adjustments to the projector. It also provides a reference to
the keypad, remote control buttons and the options that are available from the on-screen menus.

Adjusting the image

To adjust the image, do the following:
v Make sure that you have turned on your equipment in the correct order. See “Starting the projector

and adjusting the image” on page 7.

v If the image is not displayed completely, zoom the image, adjust the height of the projector, or center

the image by adjusting its horizontal or vertical position. Be sure the projector is at a 90-degree angle
to the screen.

v If the image does not fit the projection area, or is otherwise not square enough, use the Keystone

button on the top of the projector. Also, see the keystone function under “Basic menu” on page 12.

v If the image is out of focus, rotate the focus lens as shown below.
v If the colors do not display correctly, adjust the brightness, contrast, tint or color. See “Setup menu” on

page 14.

Adjusting the image focus

To focus the image, rotate the focus ring

Note:

To obtain the best overall focus quality, open a menu and focus the text. Focusing on the text will
ensure that the best overall image quality. See “Navigating on-screen menus” on page 12 for
information on opening a menu.
