Engine Oil Filter

5. Change engine oil and oil filter after the first 100 hours

of use. After break-in period, change oil and filter every
500 hours/12 months. (See CHANGE ENGINE OIL
AND FILTER in Lubrication and Maintenance/500 Hour
Section.) Fill crankcase with seasonal viscosity grade
oil. (See DIESEL ENGINE OIL, in Fuels, Lubricants,
and Coolant Section.)

IMPORTANT: DO NOT operate engine when oil level

is below ADD mark on dipstick. Check
oil level before starting engine for the
first time.

IMPORTANT: When attaching an air compressor,

hydraulic pump, or other accessory to
be driven by the auxiliary gear drive (A)
(engine timing gear train at front of
engine), power requirements of the
accessory must be limited to values
listed below:

30 kW (40 hp) Continuous Operation at 2500 rpm

37 kW (50 hp) Intermittent Operation at 2500 rpm
