PROTeCT AGAInST HIGH PReSSuRe SPRAy

Spray from high pressure nozzles can penetrate the skin and

cause serious injury. Keep spray from contacting hands or

body.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any high

pressure spray injected into the skin must be surgically removed

within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar

with this type of injury should reference a knowledgeable

medical source. Such information is available from Deere &

Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.

HAndle fuel SAfely - AvOId fIReS

NEVER operate this unit in the presence of flammable vapors

or combustible dust, gases or other combustible materials. (A

spark may cause an explosion or fire.) When servicing this

machine, be especially careful to properly dispose of any

flammable materials. DO NOT spray flammable liquids.

NEVER fill the engine fuel tank while the unit is running or hot.

Allow the engine to cool two minutes before refueling. DO NOT

refuel indoors or in a poorly ventilated area. ALWAYS refuel

slowly to avoid the possibility of spilled fuel which may cause a

risk of fire.

DO NOT operate the unit if gasoline is spilled. Wipe unit clean

and move the unit away from the spill. Avoid creating any

ignition until the gasoline has evaporated.

Use only an approved fuel container. Use only non-metal, por-

table fuel containers approved by the Underwriter’s Laboratory

(UL) or the American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM). If

using a funnel, make sure it is plastic and has no screen for filter.

Remove fuel-powered equipment from the truck or trailer and

refuel it on the ground. If this is not possible, then refuel such

equipment with a portable container, rather than from a fuel dis-

penser nozzle.

DO NOT store the unit near an open flame or any equipment

such as a stove, furnace, water heater, etc., which utilizes a pilot

light or devices which can create a spark.

SPARK ARReSTeR

The following is required by California State law, Section 444 of

the California Public Resources Code. Other states may have

similar laws. Federal laws apply on federal lands.
A spark arrester must be added to the muffler of this engine

if it is to be used on any forest covered, brush covered or

grass covered unimproved land. The arrester must be

maintained in effective working order by the operator.
