CHECKING AIR INTAKE SYSTEM

CD30762

–UN–27AUG99

IMPORTANT: The air intake system must not leak.

Any leak, no matter how small, may
result in engine failure due to
abrasive dirt and dust entering the
intake system.

1. Inspect all intake hoses (piping) for cracks. Replace

as necessary.

2. Check clamps on piping (A) which connect the air

filter, engine and, if present, turbocharger and
air-to-air radiator. Tighten clamps as necessary.

3. Test air restriction indicator (B) for proper operation.

Replace indicator as necessary.
