While recording a program, the Program Banner information is expanded to include more
information, including a graphical tape position indicator.
At the start of playback, the
Program Banner provides information about the program
being currently played, as well as the current playback status. Depending on the recorded
program, the following information may be displayed.

10. Operation Mode
When the operation mode is changed, the
new mode is displayed – RECORD
(5 sec.), PLAY (5 sec.), FF/REW (5 sec.
when engaged from stop mode), RECORD
PAUSE (for as long as Pause is engaged),
and RECORD TIMER *:* * (5 sec.).
