Configuring local area network connections
1. In the Network Configuration property sheet, enter the Domain name
(

below). Check the Append suffix to DNS lookup check box (

) if the
customer needs to append the domain name to the machine name during DNS
lookup.
2. Enter IP address information for the Domain Name Server (if used) in the DNS
section (

above), using the Add and Edit buttons.
3. Enter the IP address of the Default gateway (

above).
4. Select the NIC_name Ethernet interface, and push the Config NIC button
(

above).
NIC_name is nge0 on VTL Plus systems and e1000g0 on VTL Value systems.
On VTL Plus systems, do not change the configuration of the other Ethernet
interfaces. They are reserved for system use. For details, see the appendix on VTL
private network addresses.
