Zoom MIC
Zoom Mic adjusts the audio setting in conjunction with the optical zoom setting so that the
audio zooms in on the subject as the camcorder zooms in optically. For example, when you
zoom in on a bird, the Zoom Mic function automatically zooms the sound in so that you can
record the bird’s chirpings.

Select the Video record ( ) mode by pressing the MODE button. page 27
1. Touch the Menu ( ) tab “Zoom MIC” then the desired
submenu item.
2. To exit the menu, touch the Return ( ) tab.
Zoom Mic adjusts the settings of the internal zoom microphone in conjuncton with changes in the optical
zoom settng. You can record vivid audio because zooming-in increases the audio recording level of the
internal zoom microphone.

Zoom microphone is not available when you use an external microphone.
When using the Zoom microphone or Voice Reduction function, do not close the LCD screen or
cover the internal zoom microphone on the left of the camcorder.
When you specify “Zoom MIC: On”, “Voice Reduction” is set to “Off” automatically. •
