Computer interface test (con’t)

4. In the SCSI Select utility, verify that the printer

has the same SCSI ID set as is being addressed
by the host computer.

5. In the SCSI Select utility, set the transfer rate to

10 MB/sec and disable disconnect.

6. Print from the host computer to ensure that all of

the elements are connected and working
properly.

7. If you are able to print using commands from the

host computer, the computer/printer interface is
working properly. The problem probably exists
elsewhere. Contact your service representative
for assistance.

The following are some common operating problems with symptom
descriptions and suggested actions.

Poor image quality

™ Change the print mode to

print in higher mode.

™ Blurred print

™ Using the wrong side of the

media

™ Using incorrect media

™ Ensure the media is properly

installed in the printer.

™ Ensure that 720 dpi printing

is not performed on media
designed for 360 dpi printing
or vice versa.
