(Self-timer) Mode

This mode automatically releases the shutter after a delay so that the person making the

recording can be included in the image.

When using the self-timer, the camera must be fixed on a stable surface. The use of a tripod

is recommended.

The shutter is released approximately 10 seconds (default setting) after the shutter button is

pressed.

r Look through the viewfinder to adjust the im-

age composition, and press the

(W) and

(T) buttons to set the subject size.

t Lightly press the shutter button (halfway), and

then gently press the button down com-

pletely.

The self-timer LED on the front of the cam-

era will flash in red and the shutter will be

released after about 10 seconds.

Note:

* To cancel the self-timer during operation, select a mode

other than

using the MODE button.

* The self-timer function is cancelled after each recording.

To continue using the self-timer, set the self-timer again.

* The delay time for the self-timer can be set to either “10

sec” (default setting) or “3 sec” in the SET-UP menu. (See

page 63.)
