Control Keys
The functions of the control keys are given in the table below.
Function
Key
Primary
Secondary
(when pressed with SHIFT key)
ON LINE/STATUS Switches the printer online and offline. Prints a page of status information.
FEED/SIZE Selects the cassette feed, paper feeder, or
manual feed.
Selects the paper size for the currently
selected paper source.
SLEEP/CANCEL Sets the sleep mode. Pressing a key on
the control panel, opening and closing a
cover, or sending data to the printer will
cause the printer to begin warming up.
Abandons a printing job. (Press
together with the SHIFT key at least
one second.)
SHIFT Invokes the secondary function of each of the above keys when pressed together.
