Adjusting the Voltage, Gain, and
Volts/Hz

After setting the system voltage, check the output
voltage and adjust, if necessary, using the following
procedures.

Follow the instructions in Figure 8-6 to

adjust the voltage, gain, and volts/Hz while the engine is
running.

An x in the Display column in Figure 8-6

indicates a number from 0 to 9. Use the up arrow to
increase a setting or the down arrow to decrease the
setting.

Note: Save

your

settings

before

exiting

the

configuration mode.

Pressing the Select button when SAVE is displayed
returns to the first parameter, voltage adjust (1P).

Voltage changes are lost if they are not saved before the
generator set shuts down. The generator set continues
to run with the new settings until it shuts down but then
reverts to the previous settings at the next startup if the
changes have not been saved.

Note: A digital multimeter is required for these

adjustments.

8.2.4

Voltage Adjustment

Hazardous voltage.
Can cause severe injury or death.

Operate the generator set only when
all guards and electrical enclosures
are in place.

Moving rotor.

WARNING

Short circuits.

Hazardous voltage/current can cause

severe injury or death. Short circuits can cause bodily injury
and/or equipment damage.

Do not contact electrical

connections with tools or jewelry while making adjustments or
repairs. Remove all jewelry before servicing the equipment.

Grounding electrical equipment. Hazardous voltage can
cause severe injury or death. Electrocution is possible
whenever electricity is present.

Open the main circuit

breakers of all power sources before servicing the equipment.
Configure the installation to electrically ground the generator
set, transfer switch, and related equipment and electrical
circuits to comply with applicable codes and standards. Never
contact electrical leads or appliances when standing in water
or on wet ground because these conditions increase the risk of
electrocution.

Voltage Adjustment Procedure

Note: Refer

to

Figure 8-6

and

Figure 8-7

for

instructions to adjust the voltage using the
ADC 2100.

1. With the generator set off, connect a digital

multimeter to the output leads or an electrical outlet
on the load side of the generator set. Set the meter
to measure AC voltage.

2. Start the generator set by moving the generator set

master switch to the RUN position.

3. Use the ADC controller to adjust the voltage

(parameter 1P) until the output voltage reaches the
desired value. See Figure 8-5 for the approximate
change in voltage per step in parameter 1P.
