Making/answering calls, intercom
Problem Cause/solution
w is displayed, but I cannot
make a call.
L The handset and base unit could not
communicate for some reason, such as
interference from other electrical appliances.
Perform the following:
– Move the handset and base unit away from
other electrical appliances such as
antennas and mobile phones.
– Move closer to the base unit.
Static is heard, sound cuts in
and out. Interference from
other electrical units.
L
Move the handset and base unit away from
other electrical appliances.
L Move closer to the base unit.
L k Your unit is connected to a landline with
DSL service. We recommend connecting a
filter (contact your DSL service provider) to
the telephone line between the base unit and
the telephone line jack.
The handset does not ring. L The ringer volume is turned off. Adjust it (page
52).
L The night mode feature is turned on. To turn it
off, see page 58.
The base unit does not ring. *1
L The ringer volume is turned off. Adjust it (page
59).
L The night mode feature is turned on. To turn it
off, see page 58.
I cannot make a call. L l Check if the 4 indicator is lit in green.
If it is not lit in green, see “4 (Status)
indicator” (page 86).
L l You cannot make a call while the base
unit is downloading the software update. Wait
until the 4 indicator stops flashing and
changes to steady green.
L
You may have selected the wrong line by
pressing {TEL} or {IP}. Select the appropriate
line to call the phone number.
L The base unit or another handset is in use. Try
again later.
L Dial lock is turned on. To turn it off, see page
58.
