Updating a Wireless LAN Driver in Windows XP

To update an existing Wireless LAN driver in Windows XP:

1. Click Start and Control Panel.

2. Double-click on the System icon (select Switch to Classic View if necessary) and select the

Hardware tab.

3. Click on the Device Manager button.

4. Double-click on Network Adapters.

5. Right-click on the NetComm NP7042 - Wireless LAN USB Adaptor.

6. Select Properties.

The NetComm NP7042 - Wireless LAN USB Adaptor Properties dialog box displays.

7. Select the Driver tab.

8. Click on the Update Driver button.

The Upgrade Device Driver Wizard displays. Click Next.

9. Select the Install the software automatically (recommended) checkbox. Click Next.

10. The drivers will be found on the CD ROM in the location of D:\Drivers\WinXP, where D:\

is the letter of your CD ROM drive. Select a driver and click Next to continue.

11. Click Next when Windows locates the driver files.

Note:

The Microsoft Windows Logo testing screen will appear advising that the driver has

not been tested. Click Continue anyway to proceed.

A progress bar displays showing the progress of the driver file update.

The Upgrade Device Driver Wizard dialog box displays again stating Windows has
finished installing the software required for this device.

12. Click Finish.
