Signal Connection

To connect the signal to the screw terminals, use the following
procedure:

1.

Remove the grounding screw of the top cover.

2.

Snap out the top cover of the shield by placing a screwdriver in the
groove at the bottom of the module.

3.

Install contact protection, preferably across your load, as described
in the previous section, if your load is inductive.

4.

Slide the signal wires one at a time through the front panel strain
relief. You can use additional insulation or padding if necessary.

5.

Connect the wires to the screw terminals.

6.

Tighten the strain relief by tightening the larger screws.

7.

Snap the top cover back in place.

8.

Replace the grounding screw to ensure proper shielding.

Rear Signal Connector

Note:

If you will use the SCXI-1161 with a National Instruments data acquisition
board and cable assembly, you do not need to read the remainder of this
chapter. If you will also use the SCXI-1180 feedthrough panel, the
SCXI-1343 rear screw terminal adapter, or the SCXI-1351 one-slot cable
extender with the SCXI-1161, read this section.
