Connecting to a PC

To configure and monitor the 3000 Series through its console port, you can
connect a PC or terminal to the console port. (You can also configure and
monitor the router by connecting to its Ethernet port. See

Configuring Your

3000 Series Secure Gateway Router

on page 25.)

To connect a PC or terminal locally to the gateway router, use the 9-pin to 9-
pin null modem cable that comes with the 3000 Series and, if needed, the 9-
pin to 25-pin adapter. The following figure shows how to connect a PC or
terminal directly to the 3000 Series.
1. Connect one end of the null-modem cable to the Console connector on the

back panel of your gateway router.

2. Connect the other end of the cable to your PC.
