There are four lights on the front panel that indicate the status of the data
ports.
Light

Indicates . . .
ALM
On
Off
The 3000 Series detected a
noncatastrophic hardware failure during
power up.
Power is turned off or unit powered up
okay.

ETH
(Ethernet)
On
Blinking
Off
LAN connection to your local network is
up.
3000 Series is sending and receiving user
data on its LAN link.
Ethernet connection is not running.

Status of optional modules installed in
slots 1, 2, and 3.
Connection is up, and the 3000 Series is
sending maintenance data to the remote
device on its link.
3000 Series is sending and receiving user
data on its link.
Module installed in the particular slot is
not running, or no module is installed.
