3. You can then lift the top cover from the chassis to gain full access to the inside of the system.

Replacing a System Fan

Fan speed is controlled by system temperature, as monitored by the RAIDiator firmware. If a fan
fails, the remaining fans will ramp up to full speed, the overheat/fan fail LED on the control panel
will turn on, and an email alert will be sent to the system administrator. Replace any failed fan at
your earliest convenience. Remove the top chassis cover while the system is still running to
determine which of the fans has failed.

Warning: Care must be taken to assure that the chassis cover is in place when the

system is operating to assure proper cooling. Out of warranty damage to the
system can occur if this practice is not strictly followed.
