You can edit following parameters:
Target address
, being the host name or IP Address of the traceroute
target.
Data size
, being the size of the data portion to be transmitted in the
traceroute request.
Time out
, being the time-out value (in seconds) for the traceroute request.
Probe per hop
, being the number of times to reissue a traceroute request
with the same time-to-live value.
Port
, being the UDP destination port number to send the traceroute
request to.
Max ttl
, being the upper limit on the number of routers through which a
packet can pass.
Initial ttl
, being the initial time-to-live value.
Select Create hop entries if you want to enable the create traceroute hop
table that lists each hop that has been reached (see
).
Frequency
, being the time (in seconds) to wait before repeating the
traceroute request.
Max history results
, being the number of traceroute test results to keep in
the history.
Storage type
, allowing to select whether to store the test results of the
ping test to SpeedTouch™ storage (select Volatile), or not (select Non
Volatile
).

Select or clear whether to send or not to send:
an SNMP Trap generation path change in case the path of subsequent
traceroute requests has changed.
an SNMP Trap generation test failure in case the traceroute did not reach
its target.
an SNMP Trap generation test completion in case the traceroute
completed successfully.

Select the traceroute request Probe type:
IcmpEcho
to send ICMP messages
UdpEcho
to send UDP messages

Define following fields:
Description
, to allow to type free comment for future reference.
Source address
, to allow to spoof the source IP address of the traceroute
Select a specific Interface if you want to refine the traceroute request to a
single interface. Select None if all interface are allowed to be addressed.
Max failures
, being the maximum number of consecutive time-outs
allowed before terminating a traceroute request.
Select ByPassRouteTable if you want to bypass the SpeedTouch™ IP
forwarding and routing tables when issuing the traceroute request.
Differentiated service field
, being the numerical value to store in the
Differentiated Service Field of the IP packet.
Select Don't fragment if you want to set the don’t fragment flag in the IP
headers of the traceroute requests.

Click Apply to apply your changes to the traceroute test entry.
