Entering characters using an external keyboard

NOTE

Always connect and disconnect the keyboard with the
power to the CD-RW402 turned OFF. There is a risk of
damage to the CD-RW402 if this connection is made or
broken with the power turned on.

Set the keyboard type to either English (default) or
Japanese (“Keyboard preferences” on page 15.

• Type in letters and symbols using the keyboard.

The cursor moves automatically when a character
is entered.

• The keyboard

[Shift]

keys can be used to shift

between lowercase and uppercase characters (and
shifted punctuation).

• The

[Esc]

key can be used into clear the entered

text.

• The

[Down]

arrow keys are equivalent to

turning the

MULTI DIAL

[Up]

wise,

[Down]

• The

[Left]

and

[Right]

cursor keys are equivalent to

the

SEARCH

keys (cursor movement).

• The

[Backspace]

key deletes the character to the

left of the cursor and the

[Delete]

key deletes the

character at the cursor.

• The

[Insert]

key inserts a space at the cursor

position.

• The

[Print Screen]

key copies the currently-dis-

played text.

• The

[Scroll Lock]

There are other keyboard commands for the trans-
port, etc. These are explained in the next section.
