TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY TO PERSONS IN THE

EVENT OF A GREASE FIRE, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
a) SMOTHER FLAMES with a close-fitting lid, cookie sheet, or metal tray,

then turn OFF the appliance. BE CAREFUL TO PREVENT BURNS. If the

flames do not go out immediately EVACUATE AND CALL THE FIRE

DEPARTMENT

b) NEVER PICK UP A FLAMING PAN. You may be burned
c) DO NOT USE WATER, including wet dishcloths or towels. A violent

steam explosion will result

d) Use an extinguisher only if:

You know you have Class ABC extinguisher, and you already know

how to operate it

The fire is small and contained in the area where it started

D

The fire department is being called

D

You can fight the fire with your back to an exit

Causes of damage

Rough pot and pan bottoms will scratch the glass ceramic.
Never allow all the liquid to boil away from pots. This can damage the unit.
If you are using special pots and pans, please following the manufacturer's

instructions.

Never place hot pots and pans on the control panel area, the display area or the

frame. This can damage the unit.

Salt, sugar and sand cause scratches on the glass ceramic. Never use the cooktop

as a work or storage surface.

Damage can occur if hard or sharp objects fall on the cooktop.

Sugar and foods with high sugar contents will damage the cooktop. Use a glass

scraper to remove boiledĆover food immediately.

Shiny metallic discolorations can appear if unsuitable cleaning products are used

and if pots are scraped across the cooktop.

Aluminum foil and plastic containers will melt onto hot heating elements. Oven

protection foil is not suitable for using on your cooktop.
