Changing the main battery
Removing the battery
1 Save your work.
2 Shut down the computer.
CAUTION: Never remove the battery while the computer is
on.
3 Close the display panel, ensuring that it snaps into place.
4 Turn the computer upside down with the front of the
computer facing you.
5 Slide the battery release latch as shown in the illustration.

6 Gently pull the battery out of the battery bay.
WARNING: If the battery is leaking or its case is cracked, put
on protective gloves to handle it, and discard it immediately
following the advice in
“Disposing of used batteries safely”
on page 107 .
