To select a connection:
1. On the Preferences screen, tap the Connection pick list.
2. Tap the connection you want to use, or tap Edit Connections to edit an existing
connection or to create a new connection. See
“Setting connection preferences”
later in this chapter for more information.
Adding telephone settings
If the connection type you selected requires a phone (for example, if you are using
a PalmModem accessory, sold separately), the Phone field appears. When you
select the Phone field, your handheld opens a dialog box in which you define the
telephone number you use to connect with your ISP or dial-in server. In addition,
you can also define a prefix, disable call waiting, and give special instructions for
using a calling card.
To enter your server phone number:
1. On the Preferences screen, tap the Phone field.
2. On the Phone Setup screen, enter the phone number for your ISP or dial-in
server.
For example, if you dial 555-555-5555 to log in to your Earthlink ISP account,
enter that phone number.
3. If you need to enter a prefix or to disable call waiting, skip to those procedures.
Otherwise, tap OK.
