Headlamp for use in hazardous locations.
Field of application
The PIXA 3R ATEX headlamp is usable in areas
containing gas, vapors, dust, or mist having an
auto-ignition temperature greater than 135° C at
one atmosphere of pressure (135°C = maximum
temperature of the lamp’s surface).
This protection covers nearly all gases except
hydrogen, acetylene, and carbon disulphide.
The PIXA 3R ATEX must not be used in mines where
firedamp may be present.
Lexicon: meaning of the marking
The CEI international regulations (CEI 79.10 standard
of 1995 and the 94/9/EC; ATEX 95 European directive)
describe three types of dangerous zones.
Zone 0 or 20: the explosive atmosphere is
continuously present (petroleum tank).
Zone 1 or 21: the explosive atmosphere is often
present: mixing occurring during the operation of
a plant.
Zone 2 or 22: the explosive atmosphere may be
present accidentally: malfunction of the installation,
leak.
The PIXA 3R ATEX is category 3 equipment that
is usable in zones 2 and 22. Use is prohibited in
zones 0 and 20 and in zones 1 and 21.
Before using the lamp, take note of all hazardous
locations you may enter.

Battery
The PIXA 3R ATEX lamp has been certified by an
independent INERIS laboratory as “equipment usable
in an explosive atmosphere” when used with the
PETZL E78003 battery. Use only a PETZL E78003
battery.
Warning, do not change the battery in an explosive
environment. Do not recharge the battery in
an explosive environment. Do not transport a
battery alone (outside of the lamp) in an explosive
environment.

Champ d’application
La lampe frontale PIXA 3R ATEX est utilisable en
présence de gaz, de vapeurs, de poussières et de
brouillard, dont la température d’auto-inflammation
est supérieure à 135 °C à la pression atmosphérique
(135 °C température maximale de surface de la
lampe).
Cette protection correspond à la quasi totalité des gaz,
sauf l’hydrogène, l’acétylène, le sulfure de carbone.
La PIXA 3R ATEX ne doit pas être utilisée dans les
mines grisouteuses.
Lexique : signification du marquage
La réglementation internationale CEI (norme CEI 79.10
de 1995 et la directive européenne 94/9/EC ; ATEX 95)
distingue trois zones dangereuses.
Zone 0 ou 20 : l’atmosphère explosible est toujours
présente (réservoir pétrolier).
Zone 1 ou 21 : l’atmosphère explosible est
souvent présente : mélange se formant pendant le
fonctionnement d’une installation.
Zone 2 ou 22 : l’atmosphère explosible peut être
accidentellement présente : dysfonctionnement de
l’installation, fuite.
La PIXA 3R ATEX est un matériel de catégorie 3
utilisable en zones 2 et 22. Utilisation interdite
en zones 0 et 20 et en zones 1 et 21.
Avant l’utilisation de la lampe, prenez connaissance
des différentes zones explosibles rencontrées lors de
vos déplacements et sur votre lieu de travail.

3 : appareil pour les zones 2/22.
GD : environnement gaz et poussières.

ayant un niveau de protection « renforcé », qui n’est
pas une source d’inflammation, dans des conditions
normales de fonctionnement.

ic : mode de protection par sécurité intrinsèque.
IIIC : poussières conductrices.

qui n’est pas une source d’inflammation, dans des
conditions normales de fonctionnement.
Batterie
La lampe PIXA 3R ATEX a été certifiée par un
laboratoire indépendant INERIS « matériel utilisable
en atmosphère explosible » avec la batterie PETZL
E78003. Utilisez uniquement la batterie PETZL
E78003.
Attention, ne remplacez pas votre batterie en milieu
explosible. Ne rechargez pas votre batterie en milieu
explosible. Ne transportez pas une batterie seule (hors
de la lampe) en milieu explosible.
