The default greeting message is “Welcome in the called extension mailbox”.
If the call forward is busy, the message is preceded by the default system
message “The requested extension is busy”.
You can personalize the greeting if you wish. A new system message then
prompts the party to leave a voice message after the tone (except in cases of
where the mailbox is set to answering mode only).
The standard configuration allows voice messages of up to 30 minutes, with
up to a total of 100 messages that may be saved in your mailbox, depending
on the voice mail system’s capacity.
Note: Messages shorter than 3 seconds are discarded. An 8 seconds long
silence will automatically terminate a voice message.
This is also the case when you are directed to your calling party’s
mailbox.
11.4 Voice Mailbox Messages Internal Notification
Whenever a new message is left in your mailbox, you will be notified
immediately through an icon displayed on your extension.
The icon indicates an unread message. The icon is displayed until
you have opened the unread messages.
There are two categories of received messages:
• New messages; indicated by a vocal message and a special dial tone.
• Stored messages; not indicated.
11.5 Voice Mailbox Messages External Notification
You may also program your extension to automatically notify you at an external
number whenever a new voice message is left in your mailbox.
Typically, this number could be your GSM mobile phone when you are out
of the office.
When a new message is left in your mailbox, a call is then automatically sent to
each external number that you have defined.
If you answer this automatic call, you will be transferred directly to your mailbox.
You will then be prompted to enter your user password in order to open your
new voice message.
