2.5.3 Reset signal

2.5.3.1 General description

The RSTEXTN signal is used as an input to force a reset procedure by providing low level.
This reset procedure has to be considered as an emergency reset or for alternative download
procedure described above.

This signal can also be used as an output to provide a reset to an external device. If no
external reset is necessary this pin can be left open.

Additional comments on reset process:

The reset process is activated EITHER by the external ~RST signal OR by an internal signal
(coming from a reset generator). This automatic reset is activated at Power-up.

The module remains in RESET state mode as long as the RSTEXTN signal is held low.

Warning: A software reset is always preferred to a hardware reset. This signal should be
used only for “emergency” resets.
