You will need a standard phillips screwdriver to complete this assembly.
1. Please inspect the parts for damage during shipping and for any missing items. If you suspect that
there may be damage or a shortage, call us and we will send replacement parts if needed. At this
time, visualize how the components fi t together per the above drawing and make sure that you have
everything identifi ed.
2. The posts are interchangeable, so decide which post looks best from the front for the right and left
positions. The headboard panel has ten screw holes in the rear.
3. Carefully insert the headboard panel into one of the posts. The panel needs to be as high as
possible to minimize the gap between the top of the panel and the top of the slot. If the slot is a tight
fi t, lay the post on a carpeted fl oor, insert the panel and push down on it using your body weight until
it is fully seated in the slot. Each panel is test fi t in our factory before shipping but the wooden pieces
may expand or contract or warp a little during shipping. If the panel is hard to fi t in the slot, sanding or
trimming a slight bevel on the square end of the headboard panel may be helpful.
4. When you are certain that the headboard is fully seated into and at the top of the slot, insert fi ve of
the 1-5/8" Wood Screws into the screw holes and tighten them. Do not over tighten.
5. Now repeat this same assembly for the other post.
6. Place the assembled headboard in position upright behind the mounting brackets on your twin bed
frame. Most brackets will have slots for lateral and vertical adjustment that will fi t two of the three holes
in each post. If your frame does not fi t two holes in each post, then fi t one hole in each post and drill
a hole to fi t it. It is recommended to have two bolts in each post for best stability. Center the posts to
the bed frame and attach them together with the 2" Carriage Bolts. The bolt head to the wall and the
threads pointing to the bed. Now add the washer and wing nut to each bolt. Tighten them down to
complete the installation. Please note that this style headboard is designed to be decorative only and
the bottoms of the posts do not need to touch the fl oor.
