1. Remove the screw from the center of each

outer wheel.

2. Remove the washer and nut from the screw on

the shaft linkage, and then remove the rod
end/pull cable assembly from the screw.

3. Remove the shoulder screw assembly from the

lift plate.

4. Remove the carriage assembly from the frame.
5. Remove the retaining ring from each outer

wheel, and then remove the outer wheels from
the axle.

6. Remove the inner retaining ring from either side

of the middle wheel, slide the axle in the
opposite direction, and remove the middle
wheel.

7. Fit a new wheel into the middle wheel position,

slide the axle through the wheel, and realign the
axle with the carriage.

8. Snap the inner retaining ring into place on the

rear axle shaft to secure the middle wheel.

9. Place a new wheel onto each end of the axle.
10. Snap the retaining ring for each outer wheel

into place on the axle to secure both wheels.

11. Fit and align the carriage assembly underneath

the frame.

12. Replace and tighten the shoulder screw

assembly through the lift plate and skip plate
mounting flange to secure.

13. Fit the pull cable/rod end assembly onto the

screw on the shaft linkage and retighten the nut
to secure the assembly.

14. Replace and tighten the screw through the

center of each outer wheel.

Blade Drive Belt

WARNING

• Turn off the engine prior to

performing belt maintenance.

CAUTION

• Always let the belts cool down prior to

performing belt maintenance.


Note: Over-tensioning the belt may damage the
engine crankshaft. Under-tensioning the belt may
cause shorter belt life and/or poor saw
performance. A squealing belt indicates looseness

.

Tensioning the Blade Drive Belt

1. Inspect the belt for fraying, stress cracks,

and/or breakage and replace immediately if
there are damages.

2. Test the belt tension (refer to the Index for the

belt tension setting). Proceed to step 4 if the
belt needs tensioning. Replace the belt guard
and blade guard if no tension adjustments are
needed.

3. Loosen the four motor mount adapter nuts on

underside of the frame.

4. Turn the belt adjustment shaft nut clockwise to

tighten the belt.
