4.2 Unpacking
NOTE:
If any of the items listed below are missing when the PM-LX-800 motherboard
is unpacked, do not proceed with the installation and contact the reseller or
vendor from whom the motherboard was purchased.
4.2.1 Unpacking Precautions
Unpack the PM-LX-800 motherboard before installing it. Some components on the
PM-LX-800 are very sensitive to static electricity and can be damaged by a sudden rush of
power. Follow these precautions to protect the motherboard from damage:
Ground yourself to remove any static charge before touching the motherboard
by wearing a grounded wrist strap at all times or by frequently touching any
conducting material that is connected to the ground.
Handle the motherboard by its edges. Do not touch the IC chips, leads, or
circuitry if not necessary.
Do not place a PCB on top of an anti-static bag. Only the inside of the bag is safe from
static discharge.
