Theuserwillthenhavetochangeanysettingsthatare
incorrect.  If the settings are correct and the green
check settings icon is selected, the welder’s view
screenwillappearonthemonitorandinthehelmet’s
stereovisor.Theuserwillthenbeabletostartvirtual
welding.

MENU

Selecting Logout brings the user back to the login
screen,withtheuser’snameremoved.

BACk

SelectingBack goesbacktothepreviousscreen.

VIRTUAL WELDING OVERVIEW

While a user is welding, observers can see the
welder’s view, Live Action Student Evaluation Report
(LASER)screen,orinstructor’sviewdisplayedonthe
monitor.SeeFigureB.32.Thewelder’sviewshows
whattheuserwiththehelmetonisseeingthroughthe
FMD.  The Live Action Student Evaluation Report
(LASER)screendisplaysarealtimegraphoftheweld
beingmadeandgivesascorewhentheuserselects
“endpass”.Theinstructor’sviewallowsanotheruser
tozoomin/out,panandrotatethecoupontoviewthe
weldmentfromdifferentanglesinrealtime.

UPPER OVERLAYS

Theweldingtechniquesetinthetoleranceeditorand
otherprocessdetailsaredisplayedontheupperright
portionofthescreen.

ORANGE ACTION AND CUES ICON

The orange action menu icon has the following
options:

•“Cheater”Lens–Off,1.25X,1.5X,1.75X,2X

•CTWD(ContactToWorkDistance)VisualCue

•Trim

•Weave

•Whip(SMAWonly-Optional)

These options are only available when applicable to
theweldingprocess.

Trim cuts back the VR GMAW or VR FCAW wire.
Quench simulatesquicklycoolingthemetal.
