Section 10

– Stability and Reactivity

Stability (Conditions to avoid):

Stable under normal temperatures and pressures. Avoid exposure to
atmosphere; tablets will attract water.

Decomposition Products:

Magnesium compounds, chloride compounds, chlorine, chloride &
sodium oxide when heated above 801° C (1474° F).

Incompatibility (Materials to avoid):

Strong oxidizing agents, strong acids.

Hazardous Polymerization:

Will not occur.

Conditions to Avoid:

Extreme heat and contact with incompatible chemicals (lithium, bromine
tri-fluoride)

Section 11

– Toxicological Information

Toxicology data are available for the highest value of any component.

Oral:

LD50, rat 3,000 mg/kg

Repeated Dose Toxicity:

Dose levels producing any effects in animals were many times higher
than dose levels expected from exposure due to use.

Developmental Toxicity:

Did not cause birth defects or any other fetal effects in laboratory
animals.

Genetic Toxicology:

In vitro genetic toxicity studies were negative.

Carcinogen Status:

N/A

Section 12 - Ecological Information

Movement and Partitioning:

No bio-concentration is expected because of the relatively high water

solubility. Partitioning from water to n-octanol is not applicable.

Persistence and Biodegradability:

Biodegradation is not applicable.

Eco-toxicity:

Material is practically non-toxic to
aquatic organisms on an acute basis
(LC50/EC50>100mg/L in the most
sensitive species tested).

Fish Acute and Prolonged Toxicity:

LC50, bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) : 8,350-10,650 mg/l

Aquatic Invertebrate Acute Toxicity:

LC50, water flea (Daphnia magna) : 759-3,005 mg/l

Toxicity to Micro-Organisms:

EC50; activated sludge, respiration inhibition: >1,000 mg/l

Chemical Fate Information:

No product information is available.
