RA8000 or ESA12000 Boot Setup

This set up is the same for all x86 systems.

1.

Follow the instructions in the Microsoft Windows NT i386
RA8000/ES12000 Solutions Software Kit
version 8.5.

2.

Refer to the Compaq StorageWorks HSG80 Array Controller ACS
version 8.5 Configuration and CLI Reference Guide
to run the DILX
utility.

3.

Running this utility in standard mode on the boot drive removes any old
file information that might be on the drive.

4.

Sample of DILX utility:

HSG >run dilx

Disk In-line Exerciser

It is recommended that DILX only be run when there is no host activity
present on the HBA.

The Auto-Configure Option

The Auto-Configure option does the following:

Automatically tests all of the drive units configured (selection of
specific drive units not permitted)

Performs a very thorough test with writes enabled

Only provides run time and performance summary options

Is only recommended for initial installations

Do you wish to perform an Auto-Configure (y/n) [n] ?
