Defining a Fibre Channel Drive as the
Boot Drive

The following is a summary of the procedures necessary to define a fibre
channel hard drive as the boot drive in Windows NT 4.0.

1.

Enable Boot BIOS.

2.

Create an MS- DOS boot diskette.

3.

Designate a fibre channel boot drive.

4.

Enable HBA Boot BIOS on a fibre channel hard drive.

5.

Install Windows NT 4.0 operating system.

Enabling Boot BIOS

1.

Boot your computer in MS-DOS.

2.

Insert Diskette #2 Firmware and Download Utility diskette in drive A.

3.

Type this command:

a:\>I386DNLD.EXE

The i386DNLD.EXE Main menu appears.
