NOTE:

Once you return it to the clone group, the system where you applied a unique configuration

will not have the same configuration as other clone group members.

Removing a System from a Clone Group

The following sections describe how to remove both master and clone systems from a clone group.
To dismantle a clone group, you must modify all members, master and clones, to remove each
from the group.

Removing a Master from a Clone Group

To remove a master target from a clone group, use the Configuration Revisions page, as illustrated
under

“Task 1: Define a Master Target” (page 174)

. Select the logical target that is the master target

and click the Modify button. Under the Logical Target section of the Modify Target dialog box,
change the selected option from “Master” to “Standalone” and click OK.

The target also ceases to be a master target if you remove all members of its clone group (see

“Removing a Clone from a Clone Group” (page 178)

).

Removing a Clone from a Clone Group

To remove a target from a clone group, use the Configuration Revisions page, as illustrated
under

“Task 2: Define Clone Targets” (page 174)

. Select that logical target and click the Modify

button. Under the Logical Target section of the Modify Target dialog box, change the selected
option from “Clone of” to “Standalone” and click OK.

The target also ceases to be a clone target if you

remove the master from the clone group

.

You can also remove a clone by installing new software on that clone machine – after a warning
(pictured below) that by continuing, you are, in fact, removing the target from a clone group.
