Upgrading from a previous version
When upgrading from a previous version, the installer detects whether a previous version is installed
and then either performs a new install or an upgrade. Before upgrading from a previous version,
consider the details provided in the following sections.
You can upgrade to version 2.5 only from the versions 2.4.0 and 2.4.0 Patch 01. To upgrade,
follow the instructions of the Installer. For more information on installation, see the HP Insight Control
for VMware vCenter Server Installation Guide.
When upgrading from a previous version, you are prompted with the message The installer
has detected that RMV 2.x is installed in this environment
.
Click Next to proceed further, and upgrade to RMV 2.5. When HP Insight Control for vCenter is
installed, the RMV module is upgraded to version 2.5. The existing data for the previous version
is migrated during the upgrade.
