6.1.2 Repository contents

Table 6-1

lists the classes of items that are stored in the repository.

Table 6-1 Repository item types

Description

Name

An OS-specific bundle of ProLiant optimized drivers, utilities, and management agents.

PSP

Vendor-supplied installation files for supported versions of RHEL or SLES.

Supported OS

Vendor-supplied installation files for another type of Linux OS (a custom OS).

Custom OS

A compressed archive of captured Linux images from managed systems.

Captured Image

The kernel and RAM disk files required for network booting and installation. These
repository entries are created automatically in association with a supported or custom
OS. However, you must manually add the files into the repository.

Boot Image

Kickstart or AutoYaST installation configuration files that automate the installation of
a supported or custom operating system.

Installation Configuration
File

An optional user-provided script for running commands on managed systems through
SSH. Scripts can be run at any time, before image deployment (a Precapture script), or
after image deployment (a Postcapture script).

Deploy these scripts to managed systems through the Tools

Command Line

Tools

Run Script... menu item.

Linux Script

An optional user-provided script that runs during a PSP deployment to a managed
system.

PSP Dependency Script

A file named firmware-files.tar that contains the firmware files downloaded or
copied from the Firmware Maintenance CD in order to upgrade a managed server's
firmware. For more information, see

Firmware Update File

The items listed in

Table 6-2

are preregistered and reside in the repository after you install HP

Insight Control for Linux. The default contents include sample RHEL Kickstart and SLES
AutoYaST installation configuration files and an example PSP dependency script.
